A Light...

...in the darkness

Last week we spent time around the fire. One night we made our meal around the fire. It reminded me of the fire that burned hot when I first came to know Yeshua as my savior. I was excited and eager to grow and share my faith.

But fires die down if they are not tended to. Time has to be spent stirring the embers and adding more fuel to the flame. And life gets busy, we get easily distracted, and we spend less time tending to the burning flame of our faith.

In the military they teach you to build a fire with caution. A light in the dark draws enemies to your camp. But scripture tells us not to hide our light. While our walk of faith will surely attract the enemy’s attention, it will also draw those who are seeking the Father.

As we ended the week spending time with our faith family, I prayed that we would remember that our light is not just for one another. We are to shine before others so that they will see Yahweh’s hand in our lives and be drawn to Him themselves.
