Because your purpose is in your pain
Those tough things, those things that leave a mark, those experiences you think won't end or you won't survive...*that* becomes your purpose. That scary, dark, painful, life changing situation is what God uses to create something beautiful. He uses tragedy and heartbreak and mistakes in our lives to bring healing, hope, and love into the lives of others. He doesn't make us go through it, but whether by our own choices or someone else's, He *allows* us to go through it. Because there's purpose IN the pain. Your purpose reveals itself through the pain.
If you're going through pain/loneliness/addiction/trial/darkness right now, it feels hopeless. But there is a purpose for you, for your pain! Find someone who has walked your road and let them build you up. Because someday, you're going to be strong enough to help someone else who feels just like you do right now. Don't embrace the pain - learn from it. There are others who are waiting for you because they need you!
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people." Genesis 50:20
